About The Event

In cooperation with Bezau Beatz

Stemeseder-Lillinger strives to manifest diverse methods of sound production both acoustically and electronically, in the studio and in concert. They employ compositional and production techniques from various geographic and historical contexts, synthesizing them into a consistently modern sonic language—free from clichés yet rich in references.

The Stemeseder Lillinger Quartet is a module of the producer duo Elias Stemeseder and Christian Lillinger’s working method. It merges electroacoustic sound exploration, composition, and improvisation into a complex, multi-layered soundscape. The open structure of the modular ensemble mode "Umbra" enables dynamic processes, focusing on the real-time synthesis of different musical systems through interactions with guest artists. For this performance, the ensemble is joined by New York trumpeter Adam O’Farrill.

Their performance at the LITTLE BIG BEAT Studio allows for a hybrid realization of the duo’s various approaches and offers insights into their creative process. The concert will be recorded live, providing an intense engagement with an innovative sonic language that transcends stylistic boundaries and challenges musical conventions.

Line-up:

Elias Stemeseder - piano, electronic

Christian Lillinger - drums, electronic

Adam O'Farrill - trumpet

Joe Sanderse - bass
