KEZIAH JONES - STUDIO LIVE SESSION

Keziah Jones is a Nigerian singer and guitarist who has developed his own hard but driving funk style with his rather minimalist "Blufunk". Extraordinary is his percussive guitar playing. He mainly uses acoustic or semi-acoustic guitars, which he partly plays with electric bass techniques such as slapping. The accompanying instruments, often just drums and electric bass, are strongly integrated into this rhythm, so that some grooves remind of crossover bands like Rage Against the Machine or Red Hot Chili Peppers. Keyboards, especially organ sounds, or winds are only used discreetly. Keziah Jones was influenced by Fela Kuti and Jimi Hendrix according to his own statements.
