The Heavytones, featured in over 2,500 late-night shows with Stefan Raab as well as in special formats such as Unser Star für Oslo and Gottschalk’s Big 90s Show, have been the most prominent and distinguished band on German television for nearly two decades. With their powerful live sound, they have defined the character of countless TV and live shows.

Their outstanding quality has made them a sought-after backing band for international stars including Kylie Minogue, Adele, James Brown, Herbert Grönemeyer, Lionel Richie, Michael Bublé, Joe Cocker, Eminem, Tom Jones, Anastacia, Joss Stone, Katie Melua, Ronan Keating, Sugababes, Busta Rhymes, Mary J. Blige, Bootsy Collins, Ricky Martin, Natasha Bedingfield, Jan Delay, the Pussycat Dolls, Melanie C., Chris Isaak, Jason Mraz, David Garrett, Cecilia Bartoli, and Curtis Stigers.

They also played a major role in the ESC casting shows, supporting emerging talents such as Stefanie Heinzmann, Max Mutzke, Gregor Meyle, and Lena Meyer-Landrut at the beginning of their careers.

Beyond television, the Heavytones have earned an excellent reputation with their four album releases – heavytones No. 01 (2006), Freaks of Nature (2010), Songs That Didn’t Make It to the Show (2015), and A Tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire (2019) – and as an outstanding live act within the German music scene. Their recognizable yet versatile sound and the exceptional musicianship of each member set them apart. Many of the band’s instrumentalists also perform with renowned artists such as Till Brönner, Mark Forster, Herbert Grönemeyer, Die Fantastischen Vier, and Helene Fischer.

In spring 2024, they demonstrated their versatility once again by touring with rapper Xatar, blending his rap music with the Heavytones’ unique funk sound — selling out venues such as the Elbphilharmonie, Cologne Philharmonie, and Stuttgart State Opera. Now, the band is back on tour with their own show.
